In the Teeth of Jaws
There are captions of the persons name, in a bigger font and their particular role significant to the clip being shown. In this instance, the makers of Jaws. Mid-shots are used showing the upper expressions of facial and body language. It is positioned compostionally according to the rule of thirds, and not simply in the center of the frame. Clips are used of what they are saying, these are called cutaways. For example, a film extract or a piece of text. A relating backdrop to Jaws, such as the posters and props of sharks is placed purposefully to the subject matter. They don't look into the camera, but at the interviewer, who is just a little off from the camera. They are also at an eye-level of the interviewer so the person who is being interview isn't looking up or down. Light source is placed behind the camera to avoid glare and would be in the shot if it was placed behind the person. The question is in the answer, e.g. If the person was asked "what their favourite colour is", they would have to answer with "my favourite colour is..." for the audience to understand. Sometimes, two cameras are used to close-up on the eyes or hands, giving an artist approach.
The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special
Captions of the persons name and particular role is shown by graphics relating to the subject matter of the Simpsons with a chalkboard layout. Mid-shots are used to capture the upper expressions and close-ups are used to focus on the hands or eyes. The person is either of the left or the right of the frame and changes pattern to opposing sides. There are clips of the Simpsons Movie itself and also zooms on newspapers, these are called cutaways. The relating backdrops of characters when the person are talking about them are shown, with posters and cardboard stands. The theme music is recognisably used. The person simply does not look into the camera but off-side into the interviewers eyes, sat down. The light source is behind the camera and can't be seen in front. The question is included in the answer and not a one-worded answer that won't be understood.
